April 29, 2010 - New Hopi Hotel Opens
The Moenkopi Legacy Inn & Suites, the first hotel to be built on Hopi tribal land in 50 years, was officially dedicated on April 27th, 2010. The new hotel features 100 guestrooms including 16 custom designed suites, a salt water swimming pool and whirlpool, a conference center, and an outdoor performance plaza. (more)
March 9, 2010 - New Hopi Hotel Receives Top Honors at RED Awards
The first hotel to be built on Hopi Tribal land in 50 years, the Moenkopi Legacy Inn & Suites, received top recognition at the annual RED Awards event. The event is the equivalent of the Oscars for commercial architectural development in the state of Arizona. They honor the Biggest, Best and Most Notable real estate projects and transactions in the state. (more)
October 5, 2009- HOPI Project Receives Top Recognition from HUD
In an awards ceremony hosted by the Phoenix Field Office of the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, Daniel Honahni and the Moenkopi Development Corporation Board of Directors were recognized for their work as partners with HUD in the special category of “ Strengthening Communities”. April 15, 2009 - HOPI Hotel Opening – First in 50 Years
The Moenkopi Legacy Inn & Suites, the first hotel to be built on Hopi tribal land in 50 years, was the inspiration of the Elders of the Upper Village of Moenkopi. It was their vision that their village should be a place of welcome and gathering for visitors to Hopi tribal land. (more)
