“Discover Navajo” Summer Photo Contest
Window Rock, AZ - A picture can be worth a thousand words. Do you have a photo that says “Discover Navajo” without uttering a sound? Then your digital photo could be the one that holds the magic and be your ticket to winning the $3,500 Grand Prize! Entering is easy on the Navajo Tourism website: www.DiscoverNavajo.com
The 2009 Summer Photo Contest sponsored by the Navajo Nation Tourism Department will make you want to add Navajo country to your list of “must do” vacation spots. The Navajo Nation is slightly larger than the entire state of West Virginia with some of the most unique and wonderful attractions, traditions, culture, people, and art in the world. With the ease of digital imagery, all you’ll need to do is point and shoot.
The deadline for submissions is October 15. Photos will be uploaded for viewing on www.DiscoverNavajo.com throughout the contest. Visit the website and vote for your favorite. Your votes will help guide the decisions made by the marketing team at Navajo Tourism.
Amateurs and professionals will all have a chance to win one-of-a-kind prizes. Highlighting the list of prizes is a magnificent hand woven Toadlena/Two Grey Hills Navajo rug. In addition, the contestant with the winning image will also receive a Discover Navajo Vacation! Get ready to pack your bags and hit the road for an overnight stay with dinner for two and breakfast at three different Navajo Nation hotels, an exclusive shopping spree, cash and a gas card…with a prize package value totaling over $3,500!
Prizes will be awarded for second and third place as well as for 10 more runners-up.
The winning photo will be featured on the official new Discover Navajo poster to be unveiled during a special ceremony in the Navajo Nation capital, Window Rock, Arizona scheduled for November 18, 2009.
